In chapter 2 I learned about the Pathos argument which uses emotion to connect with readers. I think that this type of argument would be helpful in my research topic. I learned that one can use emotional appeals to make a stronger and more memorable argument. In chapter 3 focused on Ethos, or arguments based on moral elements. I think this would be a good method for arguments based current world events or social issues. The book stressed that the writer needs to build a form of trust with the reader and to claim authority of the argument. If the writer can do this then the reader will be less likely to question the writer’s knowledge.
